Founded Simpson Constructors Incorporated in January 2002 to provide construction services and construction management services for domestic and international commercial and government clients. 

 

2010 – 2022                                       SCI Haiti, S.A.                                              Cap Haitien, Haiti

Director

Co-founded SCI, Haiti, S.A. with Haitian partners in the Northern city of Cap Haitien in response to the earthquake that occurred in January 2010 to provide services to owners of private and public property development projects in Haiti. Our primary focus is providing services to the SME businesses in Haiti that are typically under served by the larger international organizations. Our objective at SCI Haiti, S.A. is to create permanent jobs in Haiti and expand current value chains by engaging local, regional and national Haitian businesses.

 

 

1999 - 2002                 Coastal Systems International                                          Coral Gables, FL

Construction Director – Contract Position

Recruited by a coastal and marine engineering company to develop a construction management division within their reputable and well-established company. Initial projects consisted of two offshore private island destinations for a Florida based cruise ship company. The first project was in Haiti and the second was a project in the Bahamas. The Haiti project, valued at $14 million, during which we performed as construction managers, was completed in late 2000.  Based upon our success in Haiti, the client contracted us to perform as design-builder for the Bahamas project, valued at $16 million.  Both projects included full water, drainage and sanitary utility infrastructure, upland facilities including resort type dining and bar structures, island staff accommodations and certain marine and civil elements.

 

Responsibilities began at the initial project programming and design phase and continued through to completion and turnover of the project.  Duties included managing the entire construction division staff including field staff.

Partner / Licensed Qualifier

Co-founded the company to provide construction services for private and public projects. The company averaged $4.5 million gross sales per year specializing in complete site development including underground utilities, earthwork & general construction.  Our average workforce consisted of forty-three, full time employees. Sold interest in the business to my partner in 1999.
